Jennifer Aniston showed off her toned and tanned leg in a Valentino gown at Sunday night's Golden Globe awards -- just a few months after Angelina Jolie rocked a thigh-baring Versace Atelier frock in Cannes.

(Another coincidence? Aniston was presenting the Best Screenplay award -- for which ex Brad Pitt's flick, Inglourious Basterds, was nominated, but lost to Up in the Air.)

But UsMagazine.com readers overwhelmingly thought Aniston, 40, pulled off the style better than Jolie, 34.

But not all UsMagazine.com readers agreed.

"She is no Angelina," wrote Lindsay Kate Bradbury on Facebook. "She can try all she wants."


At the Golden Globe Awards, where she presented the prize for Best Screenplay, Jennifer Aniston sported a va-va-va Valentino number with a sky-high slit that made her golden gams look about 10 miles long.

Turns out toned legs, not diamonds, are a girl's best friend.

Not just Aniston's. But Brad Pitt's baby mama Angelina Jolie's too.

Eagle-eyed gown-gawkers at Usmagazine.com spotted the distinct similarity between Aniston's Globes dress and the thigh-revealing Versace Atelier number that Jolie wore in May during the Cannes Film Festival.

Chalk it up to monkey-see, monkey do, imitation being the sincerest form of flattery or a subtle message from Jen to Angie that "anything you can do I can do better."

Although Aniston's motivation for the leg show remains up in the air and fashion watchers are divided on who wore the look better, the 40-year-old Aniston had a ball at the pre-awards party on Friday, where she ran into rumored ex-flame Bradley Cooper and hung out with Gerard Butler, according to People.com.

Aniston and Butler star in "The Bounty Hunter," a film out in March, and have remained pals since wrapping.

"Jen was in a great mood, a social butterfly and mingled for almost three hours," an insider said. "Gerard entertained Jen, and Jen kept giggling like she always does with Gerard."

Aniston also had a close encounter with ex-boyfriend Tate Donovan, who now stars in "Damages."

No damages in the wake of that relationship, though.

Aniston reportedly seemed thrilled to see him when he came by to say hello.


The single Friends actress then secured her headline-making night by yanking hold of Gerard Butler - one of the many men she is romantically linked to – for some saucy shots on the photographers' wall.
The actress made her intentions clear from the outset as whispers that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were running scared were finally confirmed with their no show.
Seizing the opportunity, the usually demure Aniston stepped up her game striding out some Gothic chic usually sported by Jolie, legging it in a revealing black dress completed with black nail polish. But the blonde, 40, revealed a little bit too much as the hip-high split in her dress revealed her knickers were gothic as well.

Completing her show-stopping moment Aniston then spotted her Bounty Hunter co-star Gerard Butler and homed in.
Using the hunky Scot, 40, as a photography prop, he soon found himself draped by Aniston as she swung off him to send the flash bulbs mad.
By the last camera click, Aniston's red carpet stunt drew her first blood in her annual awards season showdown with Brangelina as the pair shied away from a face off.
Friends of Jolie, 34, revealed: “Angie knows everyone would be looking for any interaction with Jen… As strong as she may look, she’s actually very scared of Jen.”
And despite her absence, Jolie still couldn't avoid the jibes after show host Ricky Gervais took aim of her adoption obsession.
He told the audience inside the Beverly Hilton Hotel, “Actors aren’t just loved here in Hollywood, they’re loved the world over, because they’re recognisable.”
“You can be in the Third World, and you get a glimpse of a Hollywood star, and it makes you feel better. You can be a little child, a little Asian child, with no possessions, no money - but you see a picture of Angelina Jolie and you think, ‘Mummy!’”
It's the second time in 12 months that Aniston has won the raging Hollywood awards war after she upstaged the couple at last year's Oscars with her comedic wit. Roll on the Oscars for round three, we love it!
